Meet Our ProvidersDavid Shapiro, M.D.
Dr. Shapiro was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas. He and his wife, Kathleen, have made their home in Anderson since moving there in 1989. They have two grown daughters. Dr. Shapiro and his family attend St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anderson. His interests include coin collecting, playing cards and the stock market. His special areas of interest include preventive medicine and in-office surgical procedures. Dr. Shapiro's desire is to help all his patients obtain and maintain the best possible health. Brian K. Kohles, M.D.
Dr. Kohles and his wife, Monica, have lived in the Anderson/Madison county area since their arrival in 1993, and they have been active in several organizations including Boy Scouts of America. They have three boys, all at home. When not spending time with family, Dr. Kohles enjoys movies, electronics and home repair. Children's health issues are of particular interest to Dr. Kohles. However, his main interest is treating the entire family, from infants to geriatrics. Dr. Kohles enjoys the challenge of treating the entire person, which is one reason he chose family medicine as his specialty. Blanca David, M.D.
Dr. David has been a resident of Anderson since 1993 after moving there from Decatur. She has two children, Christina and Brian, both in college. Dr. David and her husband, Jim, enjoy dining out and spending time with family. Dr. David also loves to read. Her practice interests include women's, children's, and adolescent health and addressing the health care needs of the Spanish population of Madison county. Dr. David's focus is to educate while providing compassion and care to all who seek her as their health care provider. Todd A. Rhoades, M.D.
Dr. Rhoades and his wife, Tina, have lived in the Anderson/Madison county area since moving here from Ohio in 1992. They have three daughters, two at home and one in college at David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Rhoades enjoys attending church with family, running, playing tennis and basketball. Preventative medicine and disease management are areas of special interest to Dr. Rhoades. He would like to see all his patients achieve healthy lifestyles in order to live a longer and more enjoyable life. Kenneth Shaver, M.D.
Dr. Shaver is board certified through the American Academy of Family Physicians. He currently serves as vice president of the medical staff at Community Hospital Anderson and is a member of the Community Physicians of Indiana board. He also serves as regional medical director of Madison County. Dr. Shaver is married to Janet, a native of Pendleton. They live, and have raised their two children in Madison county. Dr. Shaver enjoys time at home with his family, driving his classic cars, fishing, aviation and sailing. The aspect of medicine that Dr. Shaver enjoys most is dealing with the whole family and its interrelationships and watching them mature together. He also has special interest in diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol management.
Dr. Williams graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1999. He obtained his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2003 and completed his family practice residency with Community Health Network in September of 2007. He is certified in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics). A native of Evansville, Indiana, he currently resides in Indianapolis and is married to his best friend, Perla. Dr. Williams enjoys exercise/fitness, hiking, reading, camping, hunting, fishing and watching live music. Dr. Williams is certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a member of that organization. He enjoys all aspects of family medicine and is currently accepting new patients. Dr. Williams participates in most insurance plans. Beverly "Bev" Burns, M.S.N., B.S.N., F.N.P., C.S., R.N.
Beverly is a central Indiana native. After marriage, she and her husband settled near Pendleton where they raised their three children. Bev is the proud grandmother of eight. She reports her biggest joy as "horsing" around with her grandchildren and her horses. Bev also enjoys gardening and reading and is active in many roles at Fortville Christian Church. Bev has a passion for nursing and enjoys providing patient education, acute and chronic disease care, and follow-up. She feels that her contribution to patient wellness not only benefits patients today, but also in their future. She is pleased to participate in the care of patients along with the caring, dedicated physicians of Anderson Family Health Specialists. |
